Cristina Cornejo

Program Manager, Rebuild Texas Fund

Cristina has over fourteen years of experience in the governmental affairs and communication sectors. She joins us from Texas A&M AgriLife, a part of the Texas A&M University System, and the Governor’s Commission to Rebuild Texas. Cristina was the acting liaison between the state Legislature and statewide elected officials’ offices for four statewide agencies, which included Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M AgriLife Research, Texas A&M Forest Service and Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. During her time at AgriLife, Cristina helped secure state appropriations funding for these agencies, developed and implemented communications strategies that focused on branding and issue awareness, and organized legislative briefings and events. As a member of the Governor’s Commission Cristina also became the point of contact for elected officials in Harris County and Houston regarding state efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Cristina began her career in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Fellow and then moved on to the Advertising Council before returning to Texas.

Cristina has a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from St. Edward’s University.
