Misty Burns

Misty oversees the financial, tax, accounting, and facility operations of the foundation. Her focus is on advancing the foundation’s mission by ensuring compliance with all tax and accounting rules, safeguarding the foundation’s assets, and providing accurate financial reporting. Before joining the foundation, she served as Assistant General Tax Counsel of Energy Future Holdings Corp., a Fortune 500 energy company. Earlier in her career, Misty was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Misty has a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a BS in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
