Janet leads the foundation’s efforts to transform the lives of children and families living in urban poverty around the world. She drives strategic priorities and oversees all areas of the foundation’s investments. Under Janet’s leadership, the foundation has played a catalytic role in thousands of innovative initiatives to expand high-quality public education, increase the access and quality of community healthcare, and improve the economic stability of families experiencing poverty, and has invested over $2 billion to support these programs across the US, India, and South Africa. Janet was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and has also been awarded a Presidential Citation from the University of Texas. Before joining the foundation in 2003, Janet was an executive at Dell Inc., where she led various Dell business units as vice president and general manager. Janet holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
